The recruitment process
To start your application, you will complete an application form through our online recruitment portal. Applications for the 2027 Training Contract open on 2 December 2024.
Following a successful application form, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a Watson Glaser Critical Thinking assessment, designed to assess candidates' critical thinking and reasoning skills. We strongly recommend that you complete at least one practice test. Free practice tests can be found online.
The top performers from the Watson Glaser assessment will then be invited to complete a written assessment and attend an interview.
If successful, you would then be invited to join an Assessment Centre and/or Vacation Scheme, which will take place across the summer. Precise dates will be confirmed closer to the time. These provide candidates with the opportunity to get to know more about the work done by the largest sports law practice in Europe and meet the team, as well as participate in various assessed elements and further interviews.
We want you to be able to show your best self throughout this process so if you require adjustments (for any part of this process), please email careers@northridgelaw.com and the team will discuss your requirements with you.
Application criteria
At this time, candidates can only apply for a Training Contract commencing in 2027 through our Assessment Centre / Vacation Scheme process. You will therefore need to be available to attend a half-day in person assessment centre and/or a one-week placement at our offices in summer 2025. The exact dates will be confirmed closer to the time.
In order to be eligible for a Training Contract commencing in 2027 and so this year’s Assessment Centre / Vacation Scheme process, you should be a penultimate year law student, final year non-law student, or have progressed past this point.
You will also need to have completed the PGDL (if applicable), LPC, or SQE in time to start as a trainee in September 2027. Otherwise, we ask you to please apply in a later year.
We ask that candidates have a 2:1 or higher (or equivalent) in their undergraduate degree to be considered. If you have not achieved this, or are not likely to achieve this, please note any mitigating factors on your application form.
